Hoàng Thị Thế: Fate and Destiny is Vietnam’s first animated documentary, created by DeeDee Animation Studio in collaboration with Avalook. The film tells the remarkable story of Hoàng Thị Thế – daughter of national hero Hoàng Hoa Thám, later adopted by Paul Doumer, Governor-General of Indochina.
Blending animation with documentary storytelling, this pioneering project explores history, culture, and the place of women in Vietnam’s past. It offers a fresh perspective on women’s roles in history while reimagining how documentary films can connect with today’s audiences.
