1. Project Overview
Tet (Lunar New Year) is one of the most competitive marketing seasons of the year in Vietnam. As brands compete for audience attention, many go beyond traditional advertising by creating original Tet songs designed to be memorable, engaging, and highly shareable. These music-driven campaigns have become a powerful way to connect with consumers during one of the country's most important cultural moments.

Recognizing this trend, FC Mobile Vietnam launched its 2026 Tet music video in collaboration with the rising artist Captain Boy. Despite being released alongside numerous other Tet campaigns, the project managed to stand out through its vibrant, energetic animation and distinctive visual identity.

The music video was part of FC Mobile Vietnam's 2026 Vietnam All Stars launch campaign, which introduced a full lineup of 11 Vietnamese football stars into the game. Running alongside the “Hunt for Tet Gifts with FC Mobile Vietnam” promotional activities, the campaign helped drive player engagement and increase in-game traffic during the Tet holiday season.
Project Information
Project: Tết Đủ Đầy, Cả Nhà Thấy Vui Là Được - CAPTAIN BOY x FC Mobile Việt Nam
Format: Music Video
Year: 2026
DeeDee's Scope of Work: End-to-end animation production, covering the entire animation pipeline
2. The Challenge: A Year-End Sprint Against Time
The biggest challenge of the project was its exceptionally tight production schedule. The team had just one week to complete an entire 2.5-minute animated music video and deliver it in time for release during the peak communication window of the Tet holiday season.
With Tet being one of the most competitive periods for brand campaigns in Vietnam, meeting the deadline was crucial to ensuring the project reached audiences at the right moment and maximized its impact.

Meeting the deadline was only part of the challenge. As a fast-paced and highly energetic music video, the project demanded animation that was tightly synchronized with the soundtrack. Every movement, performance beat, and scene transition needed to align precisely with the music, allowing the visuals to amplify the song's energy and emotional impact rather than simply serving as illustration.
The project also featured appearances by Captain Boy and several well-known members of the Vietnam national football team. As a result, DeeDee faced the additional challenge of designing and animating recognizable character versions that remained true to the studio's visual style while preserving the distinctive appearance, personality, and identity of each individual.
3. Solving the Time Challenge Through a Structured Production Process
Clear Planning from the Start
With a highly compressed timeline, DeeDee's PMO team and department leads quickly assessed the complexity of each scene and allocated resources accordingly.
Once the storyboard was approved, the team reviewed the entire animatic and animation plan together before moving into production. This ensured that all animators were aligned on the approach for each sequence.
To keep the workflow efficient, storyboard artist and DeeDee's Head of Animation, Doan Anh Kiet, personally provided references and explained key points that needed to be captured on screen, helping the team maintain a consistent vision throughout the project.

Although these steps are part of DeeDee's standard production workflow, they were carried out with even greater attention to detail on this project rather than being shortened to save time. With such a compressed schedule, thorough planning from the outset helped minimize potential issues and significantly reduced the need for revisions during production.
As a result, the team was able to work more proactively, accelerate production, and maintain a high level of visual quality throughout the project.
Strong Sensitivity to Both Visuals and Music
A successful music video requires more than strong visuals—it needs visuals that move in sync with the music.
From the storyboard stage, the team incorporated rhythm-driven ideas to emphasize key beats and create memorable moments throughout the MV. From playful character movements to scene cuts and transition effects, every detail was carefully designed to feel synchronized with the soundtrack and enhance the overall viewing experience.

As production progressed, many of the animators became deeply familiar with the song itself. Developing a genuine connection with the music helped bring more personality and emotion to the animation, making the creative process both more intuitive and more inspiring.
Bringing Captain Boy and Vietnam's Football Stars into an Animated World
One of DeeDee's key responsibilities on this project was transforming real-life personalities into animated characters while preserving the qualities that make them instantly recognizable to audiences.

For Captain Boy, the team closely studied his appearance, expressions, and performance style to recreate his personality in animated form. His outfit was inspired by real-life references, while his rap-inspired movements and stage gestures were carefully crafted to capture the energy and confidence that define his on-screen presence.

Rather than appearing as simple cameos, players such as Quang Hai, Van Thanh, and Thanh Chung were represented through the signature football moments that have become closely associated with them. These recognizable plays were adapted into fast-paced, energetic animation sequences, allowing audiences to identify each player instantly while reinforcing the sporting spirit of the project.

In this aspect, DeeDee also benefited from its previous experience producing animation for K+, where the team also recreated iconic moments from Vietnamese sports through dynamic, fast-paced, and emotionally engaging animation.
4. Results: A Tet Music Video Surpassing 12 Million Views
Thanks to a well-structured production process and the team's extensive experience, the first version of the MV delivered to the client was approved with only minimal revisions - a strong indication of the alignment and expertise shared between the production team and the client.
After its release on YouTube and Facebook, the MV received positive audience feedback for its vibrant visuals, engaging rhythm, and energetic Tet spirit.
"The project has officially gone live and received tremendous support, both internally and across social media - including from Captain Boy's fans. The FC Mobile team would like to thank DeeDee for being such a great partner throughout the production of this MV. We hope to work together again on future projects."
Feedback from FC Mobile Vietnam
The project has since surpassed 12 million views, contributing to the success of FC Mobile Vietnam's 2026 Tet campaign and helping the brand achieve strong visibility within the gaming community.
The project once again highlighted DeeDee's flexibility in animation production. Beyond working across different content formats, the team demonstrated its ability to adapt quickly to demanding timelines and production constraints while maintaining a high standard of quality throughout the process.
