Workshop: “Developing Vietnam’s Cultural and Creative industries in the Digital era” (2023)

On August 23, 2023, Ms. Le Quynh Nhu, Co-Founder and COO of DeeDee Animation Studio, received an invitation from the International Cooperation Department under the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism to attend a seminar on "Developing Vietnam's Cultural and Creative industries in the digital era". The conference was co-organized by the Department of International Cooperation and Netflix.

Different from the presence of veteran experts in fields that have long been a key focus of the state, such as Music, Fine Arts, Copyright, etc., DeeDee Animation Studio attended as an animation studio. The animation industry is relatively new but has immense potential in the context of the development towards diversification and localization of the global entertainment industry.

As the only animation studio invited to attend, representing the animation industry, Ms. Nhu shared what DeeDee has learned when entering the world market. That is learning and improving professional qualifications on par with the world, connecting relationships in the industry and ultimately enhancing cooperation and investment opportunities.

Not only telling success stories of DeeDee Animation Studio, Ms. Nhu also frankly shared about the difficulties and challenges of Vietnamese creative units when entering the world. These are legal difficulties whenever there is a dispute when the creative teams are young and do not have much experience.

Thereby, Ms. Nhu also called for support in terms of promotion, connection, and especially legal help from the state, so that domestic creative units can feel secure and confidently step out into the world. Ms. Le Quynh Nhu's opinions were not only a valuable addition to the seminar but also created many suggestions for the seminar participants.

After the seminar, many members of the press, including television, planners, businesses, and organizations, sought to meet with Ms. Nhu to discuss her experiences, opinions, and vision for the future of the digital creative industry.
