On January 15 in Hanoi, the Vietnam Cinema Association held the Kite Awards 2025, marking a year of dedicated and creatively driven work by Vietnamese filmmakers. DeeDee Animation Studio was honored to attend the ceremony and leave its mark with the Silver Kite Award for the animated short film Home Again.

Organized by the Vietnam Cinema Association, the Kite Awards have long been considered as one of the country’s most prestigious professional honors, celebrating outstanding works and individuals who have made significant contributions to Vietnamese cinema. Home Again’s journey through the selection rounds, from nomination to final recognition in the animation category, marks a memorable milestone for the DeeDee team.

In recent years, Vietnamese animation has been widely recognized for its positive momentum, fueled in part by the growing presence of production studios beyond traditional institutions. This diversity of creative forces has introduced fresh perspectives and contemporary storytelling approaches, enriching the landscape of Vietnamese animation.

With Home Again, DeeDee Animation Studio continues to pursue its creative direction of weaving Vietnamese cultural and historical elements into animation. The film embraces a modest, handcrafted visual style, familiar and nostalgic settings, and a heartfelt story that resonates with the audience. It is this distinctly Vietnamese spirit that has helped Home Again leave a strong impression and earn recognition from the professional jury at this year’s Kite Awards.

The Silver Kite Award 2025 serves as a meaningful source of encouragement for DeeDee Animation Studio to continue its journey of creating high-quality animated works, bringing Vietnamese stories and identity closer to both local and international audiences.
